How can I use the program without a Gold account?
DepositFiles FileManager is aimed at comfortable downloading of many files from Depositfiles.com service. The general principles of downloading in Free and Gold modes are similar: you can add to the program as many links as you want, press "start" and the program will download all the files itself and without your participation. If the Internet breakage occurs and a file downloading interrupts the program will resume the downloading when Internet is connected again.
The only difference of the Free mode is that the program downloads files as if you were downloading with your browser: that is one file in one tread with limited speed; pauses between files download also are kept.
In the Gold mode all this restrictions are absent.
Though all the files you need can be downloaded in both Free and Gold mode.

How can I achieve the maximum speed downloading in Gold mode?
In contrast to Free mode when files are downloaded in one tread, Gold mode allows to download files in several threads. Depositfiles Filemanager's options allow to set up a number of threads. For it go to: Options/Options/Download.
Please remember that the maximum speed can be limited by your ISP speed. To check up your downloading speed you can, for example, here.
General questions
What does the "segment size" in options mean and what does it influence?
"Segment size" is a size of blocks to which a downloading file is divided. As soon as a block is downloaded it is written to you disk. If you increase the "segment size" (for ex. Up to1 MB), then files are to be downloaded faster, though a large "segment size" augments PC memory's loading and it's increasing may slow down other programs you are running. That is why you should choose the "segment size" depending on your Internet speed and size of your PC memory. The default settings of the segment size is 4KB.
Do I need special settings of my Antivirus Program if I have Depositfiles Filemanager installed on my PC?
Depositfiles Filemanager doesn’t contain malicious codes and cannot harm your computer, this is why Antivirus Programs do not block the program.
Though, there are some cases when some Antivirus programs restrict the program’s multi-thread function in Gold-mode, it can slow down the process of files downloading. If you have faced such a problem you can easily fix it by including the program to the list of trusted programs in your Antivirus application or Firewall.
